Abstract

In this contribute we propose a probabilistic method to assign an employee to one of the local units of the enterprise he/she works for. This purpose derives from the necessity to spread geographical information about demographic as well as professional characteristics of the employees. We use information concerning the workplace coming from different statistical and administrative sources to construct a set of categorical indexes to be used in a Latent Class Model to estimate the probability of each employee to belong to each local unit. We work conditionally on the total number of employees for local unit. A computationally intensive optimization problem has to be solved for each of the (about) 200 thousands multilocated enterprises. The analysis made refers to years 2010 and 2011.
