Adolfo Morrone

Last modified: 2013-06-14

Abstract

The Bes framework provided a consistent and shared way of measuring well-being at the national level and it is becoming a reference point at international level and for public debate in Italy. Evaluating vulnerability, defined as capitalizing this previous experience, has included indicators of vulnerability in some of its domains. These indicators do not point out to a condition of present strain for the individual/household, they try to underline conditions that can determine a loss of wellbeing in the future. The presentation will underline the solutions adopted by the Bes framework to measure social and economic vulnerability and its relationship with the current level of well-being underlining the areas that need a bit investments in terms of future research.
